Yesterday, i went looking for films that were still selling in Angeles City. i went to see some of the shops only to find out that it really was the end of Kodak. Some brands were still up though. there were still a few fresh rolls of Centuria, Fujifilm YKL(sold in the philippines), Lucky Color, Shanghai Color and the Photoline brand film, all in 135 format.
I went straight to a Kodak Shop to see how it is for them now that kodak is sinking. they only had a few centuria boxes on their shelve so i asked where the kodak films are. She told me that all of the rolls have expired last 7/2011 but they still keep 80 rolls of Kodak Ultima 100 (i think this is the repackaged Profoto100) and about 40 rolls of Kodak max 400.
At first, i thought of buying just a few rolls and decided to hoard them instead. i took 50 rolls of Kodak Ultima 100 and told them that ill be back for the rest of the films since i only had enough money for 50.
So, for 50 rolls i’ll get 1750 frames. If i used my pen, i’ll get 3500 frames. if i’ll take just 1 photograph a day, this stash would last for 9 and a half years. how is that for panic buying, yea?
